The 2009 Grandparents Day program at DLHS was highlighted by Coach Gene Stallings who, for this program, took on the role of Grandfather.  John Mark and Jacklyn Vanderpool's grandparents, Gene and Ruth Ann Stallings were our guests for this very special program.  The message was one that inspired and encouraged grandparents to get involved with their grandchildren and to stay involved with them.

The morning began with receptions in classrooms and in the cafeteria.  Other elements of the program included nine welcome messages from nine different students in their native language.  Lipscomb students from Ethiopia, Mexico, China, Korea, Israel, Iran, Germany, and Nigeria all participated.  The band performed and a brief skit from the middle school play, Annie, Jr. was performed.

The crowd was one of the largest crowds ever for this event.  Thanks to all who attended and made this event special.
